December 31st, 2019 was a wildly transformative day for me. More than your typical New Year’s Eve day since I literally dyed my hair pink the morning of the 31st to be able to welcome the New Year with a new do. No preliminary testing, no trials, just a mission and a will to get it done. This was more symbolic and important for me than probably most would ever come to know. It was a beauty dream of mine, and I’m happy to say that with the help from my mom, Jessica, and aunt Undina, aka Dienchie, it came true!
First time I seriously thought about this, a friend and former boss at this marketing firm I worked at, asked me if I’d never considered dying my hair pink since it would match my personality. Ever since then, the idea was planted in the back of my mind slowly, but steadily growing, urging to blossom in reality. Fast forward three years and voila, I got to experience having pink hair!
The Magic Pot, aka the Product: Lime Crime’s Unicorn Hair Color
I wanted to try this out, but I also knew I wanted to keep exploring myself with a lighter do as well. So I did my research and found this vegan, cruelty-free brand that produced conditioning semi-permanent hair tints, in colours as bright as a rainbow: Lime Crime. I ordered a pot of their Unicorn Hair Full Coverage product in Bubblegum Rose.
The 31st – Morning of Magenta Madness
So, on the eve of the 2020 New Year, I went over to my mom’s place where she and my aunt helped me with dying my hair. While also making sure I didn’t get any dye on my face or ears since I had a couple of different events to attend that day.
*side-note: Forever thankful to my mami & Dienchie!
It was about 9 or 10 in the morning when we started, and we finished just in time for me to go home and get ready for the first events to say adieu to 2019. Below you will see some snapshots of me frolicking with magenta MEANRO mode turned on.
