Disco Frill for the Paper Sisters Thrill

On November 30th, 2019, former coworkers of mine, Airany & Marcella, and I had planned a little girls night to scope out the new (and super INSTA-worthy) store, Paper Sisters. The muy girly and cutesie office supplies store had announced a public store opening event on this evening. Airany knew one of the owners, and us chicas were definitely down to support female entrepreneurs, while also making a fun outing out of it.

A little bit of wine and retail therapy

Dressing up for a fem-powered store opening meant glam and frill mode for me. My celebratory outfit for the evening consisted of a strapless faux leather crop top, black lightweight frill shorts, a gold foliage printed jacket, block-heeled ankle boots, statement earrings, and a clear see-through purse.

A semi-permanent smile was also visible, but that may have been due to the fact that they welcomed us with glasses of bubbly. Plus a very persistent waiter who was giving out cake, kept coming back to me until I finally gave in and ate some, so maybe the cake-before-dinner also helped keep that grin up.

The Paper Sisters store opening was a delight! I got to get some retail therapy and early holiday gift buying out of the way which felt nice. But let me tell ya, sparkling wine (or any vino for that matter) and shopping do go together a little TOO GOOD. You loosen up that grip on your bank card real quick! Haha.

Fuel up & puff puff pass the hookah

After indulging in some retail therapy and showing support for the Paper Sisters crew, we headed off to wine-and-dine ourselves at Arabian restaurant and hookah lounge, Sultan. I ate vegan kibbeh, plant-based stuffed grape leaves and falafel, and paired my nourishing food with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.

What we smoked: a watermelon mint hookah (surprisingly nice – and for once I didn’t choke on the smoke, LOLzies)

After dinner, one would think we’d be stuffed and ready to go home. But no. Well, yes, we were stuffed, but we headed off to On The Rocks Cafe and then Apotheek Speakeasy after. We def celebrated to the max!
