Birthdays – one of my favorite global celebrations, especially when it comes to mine. Hehe. Besides celebrating birthdays, both yours and mine, I would have to say that December holidays are my faves to celebrate too.
Thus, when I found out about a friend who throws annual Christmas in July parties to spice up their summer, I just knew that “oh-my-goodness, one day I wanna throw one.” Fast-forward a couple of years, and we have Summer of 2019 where my bf and I threw a combined Xmas in July fiesta at Arashi Beach to celebrate our birthdays.
As a true celebrator of life (and detail-oriented individual), I usually invest quite some time in planning and organizing little fiestas for myself and loved ones. Why? Well, because we are all worth celebrating, of course! As shameless as I can be about having a “birthday week” to honor my existence, I am also a person who’s eager to be there to celebrate your bday with you too. Whether it be for a few hours, or a multi-event happening to ring in your New Age – count me in!
Have a Very MEXTRA Celebration
So, you can imagine that when I have to plan something for myself, no matter how small the gathering may seem, I am going to give it that MEXTRA touch. Christmas in July Beach party example: Christmas-colored jello shots, a very cherry punch made with local rum, green apples in red sand buckets (haha, def healthy-me trying to bring a sort of balance for all of the adult beverages), red and green mardi gras beads, and more reusable (or biodegradable) christmas-themed decor.
Both friends and family came out to celebrate at this all-day beach event. And let me tell you, it made celebrating at Arashi all that much more wonderful. I was happily stationed from 10.30AM until a little after sunset, and had a wonderful time conversing, dancing, snacking, and celebrating with everyone. Can’t forget about the ocean dips in our turquoise waters to cool off from all of the frolicking. So relaxing. *sighs*

I don’t have pictures with all of the festive attendees, but a big THANK YOU still goes out to everyone who showed up to make this fun beach fiesta extra special! Every single one of you added extra smiles to my happiness counter for the day. Also, thanks to those who kept reminding me to reapply sunblock. Without you, I would’ve been a muy burnt lobster the day after this beach party (aka on my actual birthday). So, DANKI! Here’s to many more years of being blessed with birthdays that are graciously sprinkled with love, joy and laughter!
