During the 2018/2019 academic year, I completed sewing & textile courses, as part of a “Fashion & Apparel Assistant” program by Openbare Avondleergangen Aruba (OAA). This program was offered by the government-funded organization, OAA, as part of their profession-based night school classes. The official program and course titles were registered in Dutch as the following: “Assistent Mode en Kleding” (program), Textiel Warenkennis (Textile Goods Knowledge course), and Praktijk (Practical Sewing Skills course). The classes were taught in Papiamento and included helpful materials that were printed in Papiamento & Dutch.
